Unlike NCAA basketball the number 1 seeds will not be making the final
four as both were upset in the Division Championship series. Syracuse, the defending Cowbell world champs, were taken out by the Rochester Royals three games to one. The Royals put up 29 runs in the four games against the majors best pitching staff. The fifth seed will now travel to the winner of Game 5 between Vancouver and Kansas City for game 1 of the American League Championship. Number 4 Ottawa also won their series 3-1 over the NL number 1 Colorado, winning three straight after a giving up 12 runs in a game 1 loss. They now head to Cincinnati to do battle with the defending NL champs for the NL crown.
